e-Prescribing Simple Facts

If you missed out on the 2009 bonus, start this fall to get ready for 2010 2% Bonus for all of your Medicare part B allowed charges.

The bonus check is issued to each provider individually so you may sign up only the providers at your office who wish to participate

E-prescribing is simple to use. The only requirements are to 1) e-prescribe electronically when possible for Medicare patients who you bill a qualifying office type visit and prescribe a medication to, and 2) send in a G-Code with your electronic claims on that charge claim.

G8443 All prescriptions created during the encounter were generated using a qualified e-Prescribing system; or

G8445 No prescriptions were generated during the encounter; or

G8446 Some or all prescriptions generated during the encounter were handwritten or phoned in due to one of the following: required by state law, patient request, or qualified e-Prescribing system being temporarily inoperable

HCIT uses an ASP Gold solution Provider for e-prescribing.  We offer three options to connect to e-prescribe.

1)      Stand-alone directly from any PC through the Internet

2)      Launched directly from our PMS Software

3)      Launched directly form our EMR Software

• To qualify for the program your Medicare allowed charges for combined total of following billing codes (90801, 90802, 90804, 90805, 90806, 90807, 90808, 90809, 92002, 92004, 92012, 92014, 96150, 96151, 96152, 99201, 99202, 99203, 99204, 99205, 99211, 99212, 99213, 99214, 99215, 99241, 99242, 99243, 99244, 99245, G0101, G0108, G0109) must be at least 10% of your annual Medicare allowed charges.
