(1) To scan in all of your old charts to free up storage space and save $ (2) To scan in current partial charts initially for management, billing and front desk benefits for items such as patient ID, insurance cards, referrals etc. (3) To scan in all current patient documents or import images for an easy to view current chart anywhere on the network. (This assumes that the physicians will still document each visit on paper to be scanned in at checkout or later but the physician does not have to make any changes.) (4) [Future Enhancement] This is a real-time chart where the physician writes directly on a touch screen tablet on their practice’s forms to document the visit in the exam room. This is a very simple to install and use product which will allow you to quickly scan or import paper documents and images into logical folders that you define. The folders can be displayed differently by each department’s (technician, nurse, provider etc) preference. This product has default scan parameters and advanced features to define custom scan properties for color, rotate, duplex, size etc. It works with any twain compliant scanner and is used optimally with a multi-page batch scanner. It comes with OCR (optical character recognition) technology to locate documents with particular data (such as patients with a certain diagnosis or medication). Forms or documents can be scanned in directly to a folder, filed into the correct folder by bar code identifier or filed into the correct folder by OCR definitions. This application has security access and secure locking of specific documents in addition to specific notes attached to documents. Anyone with security can access items at any time. Documents are stored efficiently for quick access and smaller disc storage requirements. Images can be stored on your server or ours.
